Lluwen, sometimes affectionally called Lulu, is an elf druid from Lorwyn-Shadowmoor.
Description
Lluwen is a friendly but reserved Lorwyn elf. Considered a Faultless, his horns are long and curved.[1] On Lorwyn-Shadowmoor, he was a hunter of the Nightshade pack, and wore sturdy green and brown hunter's leathers and carried a spear.[2] In Shadowmoor, his horns grow thorny.[3] Lluwen has always preferred the company of animals to people. He can be standoffish and rude, but will fiercely defend those he cares about.[4]
History
Lluwen was born to elvish supremacists and considered less beautiful than his peers marking him Faultless elf. Lluwen himself was uninterested in reclaiming the lost glory of the elvish domain. Despite this apathy, he still feared the might of the elvish court and did very little to argue against their resurrectionist plans. He chose to play the part of an obedient son and leave the court at the first opportunity.[4]
Around 4564 AR, Lluwen captured the vampire Kirol in the Gilt-Leaf Wood.[2] He brought Kirol further into the wood, explaining that he wanted Kirol's knowledge on the premature awakening of Isilu.[1] He presented them to High Perfect Morcant, and they explained that they and the other students had awoken it by mistake. Morcant was interested in destroying Shadowmoor entirely and took Kirol's explanation to mean that Isilu might be vulnerable to attack. She concocted a plan of using dawnglow as a poison to kill the great elemental, and enlisted Kirol to harvest some dawnglove from a part of the forest that had fallen into night.[5] Kirol was forced to continue harvesting even when a group of rimekin were close to discovering them, but they were saved by the intervention of Ajani Goldmane, an associate of the Magibotanical Environments class's professor Liliana Vess. Kirol and Ajani fled the forest, and Lluwen decided to follow. As Morcant attempted to poison Isilu with the dawnglow retrieved by Kirol, they returned with their classmate Sanar and, along with Lluwen's help, stole the dawnglow from her, transforming her into her Shadowmoor aspect in the process.[3]
After this, the students accompanied Ajani through another omenpath, going from Lorwyn-Shadowmoor to Shandalar and eventually back to Arcavios. At Tamira's suggestion, Lluwen joined Strixhaven's cross-planar student program to escape the ruthless elven hierarchy of Lorwyn.[6]
