The following characters from Tarkir are only mentioned in flavor text, or appear as minor characters in the storyline.

An elder warrior of the Sahn Ni family of Clan Temur who traveled to Jeskai lands to test the strength of their initiates.[2] While wandering, she wore a traveler's cloak over her armor and carried a massive bone and steel sword.

A young, curious female Dromoka soldier who discussed Anafenza's spirit defending their ranks.[3]
Akef

An ainok bounty hunter of House Fenzala.† Amber-Plate Ainok (Alchemy: Tarkir)
Allek Allek, Atarka hunter

Altan

Son of one of the best Mardu hunters, who competed against Paala and attacked her using a sword during The Lightning Proving.[4] Though he broke his leg in the process, Paala helped him to complete the trial.
Anchin

A sabertooth who was Yasova Dragonclaw's companion.[1][5]
Arel Arel, the Whisperer
Arel, Unseen Whisperer

In the old timeline, a young Temur shaman that was recently initiated.
In the new timeline she is a dissenter among the Atarka.
She believes that the dragonlords are abusive tyrants and secretly searches for those who would oppose them.[6]
Asham

A Jeskai monk and warrior at Cori Mountain Monastery.[2] He grew up in the same village as Ru but left to master the Way. He has a shaved head and wears coarse fabric robes and cloth shoes. He was defeated by Ai Wen in front of his entire monastery and sought to perfect a talon-stance to defeat her. He and Ru became lovers.

Backstabber

A Mardu warrior who was part of the horde that attacked Riza's Abzan patrol in the desert.[7]
Baihir Marza Baihir Torn-of-Ear
Baihir, Dromoka mage

In the old timeline, an Ainok that resented human dominance within the Temur, and plans to take over the clan should Surrak fall. She has a child with the Mardu-aligned ainok rogue Kharkhel.[8]
In the new timeline, an Ainok master mage of both the sunbringer and sandbringer traditions among the Dromoka.[6] She was compleated by the New Phyrexia's green-aligned Copper Host.[9][10]
Balur Balur, Mardu warrior

A Mardu Archer.
Barzeel

A Mardu warrior who received their battle name by Alesha. Presumably an ancestor of Gvar Barzeel.[11]
Beril

A female ainok soldier serving under Daghatar after the Khanfall.[5]
Beyza Zanhar

The djinni leader of the Abzan House Zanhar.[12][13] Her face is white with scars. She has two fathers.
Chanyi Chanyi, mistfire sage
Chanyi, Ojutai monk

Cemal Emesh

A krumar initiate to the Abzan house Emesh.
Cemil Fenzala

A krumar adopted into the Abzan House Fenzala from the Sultai years before 4564 AR.[14][15] Tall and slender, with dark hair and a trim beard, he was considered bland, dutiful, eminently ignorable, and not at all ambitious. He served as the assistant to the warden of the kin-tree and carried a Sultai sickle with a jade snake curling around its handle. Believing krumar would never truly be considered Abzan, Jurjis helped him betray his House to return to the Sultai. He fell from Qatros Karst's battlements during a fight with his cohort-sister Mehtma Fenzala, and may have been recovered by the Brood.
Cliffleaper

A Mardu warrior who received their battle name by Alesha.[11]
Danfeng Danfeng, Jeskai mage

A Jeskai mage.
Dariya

A nonbinary Abzan trader who tried to swindle a Mardu trader on a deal and was killed in return.
Dauna

Chief necromancer of the new Sultai.[16] An exquisitely alluring woman, tall with olive skin and raven hair, drawn into a bun. She wears a golden crown. green, gold-trimmed armor, and a red and gold sash. During a sibsig ceremony around 4564 AR, Dauna stabbed the sibsig Nishang after Sidisi forced him to poison the other sibsig.
Doshiyn Doshiyn Eye-Piercer

Bodyguard of Khan Alesha of the Mardu.[5]
Duvir Duvir, Mardu warrior

A Mardu warrior who died fighting a dragon.
Dvujin Councilor Dvujin

An Abzan bureaucrat and member of the council of Qatros Karst.[14]
Emina

A Mardu girl the same age as Paala who competed against and attacked her using a sling during The Lightning Proving.[4] Though she collected a lightning bolt, hers was weaker than Paala's.
Eliam Teacher Eliam

A teacher of Jeskai Way.
Enti Fenzala

A young loxodon krumar adopted into the Abzan House Fenzala who was murdered by Captain Jurjis of House Agach around 4564 AR. Now a spirit housed in House Fenzala's kin-tree in Qatros Karst.[14][15]
Ermaz Ermaz, Abzan border guard

An Abzan border guard.
Eskeg

A Mardu Scout with a dragon companion.
Ezcul Zanhar Ezcul

An Abzan warrior and earthcarver mage.
Faiso Faiso, Dromoka commander
Commander Faiso

Youngest commander among the Dromoka, whose tactical knowledge is valued even by the dragonlord herself.[6] In the new timeline, Oret works for Faiso as a cartographer. [3]
Fangbreaker

A Mardu warrior who received their battle name from Alesha.[11]
Feyomsi

The rakshasa chief of the Sultai and teacher of Sidisi. He ruled the necropolis of Ukud in the original timeline.[17]
Gaiza Gaiza, Mardu raider

A member of Clan Atarka.[1]

A goblin who, with Vurg, intended to eat a dragon.

A young nonbinary orc krumar adopted into the Abzan House Fenzala in Qatros Karst.[14][15]

Gvar

Hakrez

In the original timeline, she was the kin-tree warden of Anafenza's house tree. She was killed when Oret betrayed their family and toppled their fortress.[18]
Hazena Emesh Hazena, spirit of House Emesh

An Abzan Spirit Warrior of House Emesh.
Headsmasher

A Mardu warrior who claimed their name on the same day as Alesha received hers.[11]
Headtaker

A male human of the Mardu, named by Zurgo after being blooded. Witnessed his clan's rebellion against their Khan.[19]
Heartpiercer

A female human of the Mardu, named by Zurgo after being blooded. Witnessed her clan's rebellion against their Khan.[19]
Heng Heng, Sultai ambassador

A Sultai ambassador.
Houn Houn, Jeskai elder

Ilagra

The first khan of the Mardu. Their edicts, inscribed on dragon-hide scrolls, govern the rules of honor and combat for the modern Mardu in the original timeline.[8]
Iramaz Iramaz, Abzan trader

Jaidar Sharptusk

A Mardu warrior.[8]
Jalasha Jalasha Impaler

A Mardu warrior who was saved by Jagun Wingmate before he received his name.[11]
Jhinu

In the original timeline, he was a slave of Sidisi. He was tormented by her for years until he staged a failed assassination attempt and was killed for it. [20] In the new timeline, he remained independent of Sidisi. [21]
Jialing Jialing, Jeskai Monk

Jilaya Jilaya, Temur whisperer

A Jeskai apprentice at Storm Crane Monastery trained by Narset.
Jurjis Agach Captain Jurjis

A member of the Abzan House Agach who served as Qatros Karst's captain of logistics.[14] Born in Great Arashin City, he didn't consider krumar to be true Abzan. Jurjis used a Sultai dispute over mining rights to his advantage, allowing their siege of Qatros Karst to persist without notifying the khan, instead requisitioning defense payments into his or his house's own coffers. Angered by his House's denial of a Kin-Tree, he conspired to steal House Fenzala's, killing Enti Fenzala in the process. In response, he was killed by Mehtma Fenzala, who took over his role after his death.

Kharkhel

In the old timeline, an ainok runt who was abandoned by his pack. He joined a tribe of Mardu-aligned orcs, eventually killing its leader and taking control of the tribe. Today, he and his ainok mate Baihir, with whom he has a child, seek to reduce the power of humans within the Temur, and wrest control of the clan should Surrak ever fall.[8]
Khibat Khibat the Revered
Khibat, Kolaghan warrior

Khurz

A skeptical Dromoka soldier who discussed Anafenza's spirit defending their ranks. He is an old, stern-faced ainok, missing several teeth.[3]
Kiarka

Daughter of Yasova Dragonclaw, and mother of Baishya and Naiva. Killed by Atarka because she was a Temur Whisperer.[1][22]
Kirada Kirada, Qarsi Overseer
Kirada, Silumgar Enforcer

Custodian of Qarsi Palace. A native of the Sagu Jungle, she often travels with her trained baboons.[17]
Kneecleaver

A Kolaghan goblin sufferting "The Crave"
Korolar

A dragon of Dromoka's brood, with a wingspan of twenty feet, killed by Abzan warriors shortly before the Khanfall.[23]
Krowg Krowg of Qal Sisma

An orc woman and Mardu warrior who was saved by Jagun Wingmate before he received his name.[11]
Kyra

A leopard familiar of Eshki.

Lanniao

An aven scout for the Jeskai.
Lightning

A manul ridden and later claimed by Paala during her Lightning Proving.[4] A large yearling male who is fond of Paala and her sister, she named him after she completed her proving.
Lotse Taring

An original timeline villager of Jigme Village, who was judged twice by the Arbiter Twins, Kela and Dar Chensal. He was proven guilty of stealing apples from the village, but innocent of murdering Elder Ngabo with poison. [24]
Lu Fen

A Sultai alchemist.
Magran Magran Backbreaker

A Mardu warrior who was saved by Jagun Wingmate before he received his name.[11]
Mandakh Mandakh, Mardu scout

A Mardu scout who travels with a packbeast.
Mogai Mogai, Sultai scout
Mogai, Silumgar noble

Marrit Marrit of House Emesh

In the original timeline, she was Captain of the Abzan's elite Dragonscale infantry. She swore an oath of kinship to khan Anafenza[18]
Merel

Daghatar's uncle, who witnessed his nephew swearing allegiance to Dromoka and the abandonment of the old ways of the Abzan.[23]
Mehtma Fenzala Lieutenant Mehtma
Captain Mehtma

A human krumar adopted into the Abzan House Fenzala years before 4564 AR.[14] After visiting khan Felothar's court around 4563 AR, she was gifted three cows by the khan in recognition of accolades she had won. She was instrumental in preventing the robbery of her kin-tree by House Agach.[15] An ambitious woman, she leveraged the situation to become Qatros Karst's captain of logistics.
Mevra

A niece of Yasova. Leader of a hunting band and presumably killed by Nicol Bolas.[1]

Mytha Mytha, Temur Shaman

Nasath Nasath, Kishla fisher

A Sultai fisher in the Gudul delta.
Neckwringer

A male human of the Mardu, named by Zurgo after being blooded. Witnessed his clan's rebellion against their Khan.[19]
Nightrider

A Mardu warrior who was part of the horde that attacked Riza's Abzan patrol in the desert.[7]
Nishang

A Sultai soldier of Silumgar who died from a wasting disease around 4564 AR and was turned into a sibsig by Sidisi.[16] Tan and hairless in life, his jaw, left eye, neck, and one of his arms were replaced with golden prosthetics after his death. He served as a Silumgar soldier with Titsui, his second-in-command, and was promised three sibsig for his service to the dragonlord. After Sidisi returned him, she implanted him with poison and a rakshasa servant disguised as Titsui forced him to attend a sibsig ceremony, where the poison spread through the ceremonial pool and destroyed hundreds of other sibsig. After the attack, he was stabbed by Dauna.
Nitula Nitula, Temur hunter
Nitula, the Hunt Caller

A Temur hunter. In the alternate timeline, the Hunt Caller of the Temur, who earned her title by fending off a pair of ogres singlehandedly.[8]
Nur The Wandering Warden

A talkative Abzan Djinni with a penchant for irreverence.[25][13] She has a horned head and a smooth face. Unrepentantly insolent, she holds few things sacred, and is even rumored to tease Felothar in public. She wears emerald, gold-lined robes accented with purple. She is particularly effective at assuaging wandering spirits, even ancestral maelstroms.
Paala Paala, Clan's Aid[26]

A Mardu warrior, formerly of the Abzan in Great Arashin City.[4] The daughter of an Abzan diplomat mother and a high-ranked father killed by political assassins, she is the older sister of Refia.[26] She has braided hair and a phobia of dragonstorms and rides the manul Lightning. She reached the summit first during her Lightning Proving and secured the strongest bolt of lightning. She may be named after the Pallas's cat, another name for the manul.
Paipai

A deceased ox that belonged to Ru's family.[2] Died a winter before 4564 AR.
Pherah

A female crocodile of the Sultai Qarsi Palace.
Qi Master Qi

Head monk at Cori Mountain Monastery.[2]
Qorin Skullcracker

A Mardu warrior.[8]
Quan

Scribe of Khan Shu Yun of the Jeskai. Preserved scrolls that detailed the events of the Khanfall.[5]
Refia

A girl from Great Arashin City who fled the Abzan and joined the Mardu as a baby.[4] She is Paala's younger sister and the daughter of an Abzan diplomat mother and a high-ranked father killed by political assassins.[26] She plans to take over her mother's role of raising manul when she is old enough.
Ru

An ainok farmer of Jeskai territory.[2] He has pointed ears and dark gray fur. He grew up in the same village as Asham, who later became his lover.
Rufaz

A female orc, and one of Zurgo's three Mardu wing-leaders. Joined Varuk in the rebellion against their Khan.[19]
Rushka

A Temur shaman in the original timeline, who fell afoul of Sorin Markov and lost his head.[27]
Sadesh Mevak

Sakta Sakta, Atarka hunter

A young Atarka hunter and of the few surviving shamans among her clan. As the whisperer with the greatest sensitivity to the Wide Whisper, she functions as the de facto leader of the hidden shamans. She advises Surrak as the chief scout.[6]
Sardul

A Sultai human who left his clan to become a novice of the Jeskai Way.

A female human dragonslayer employed to kill Silumgar's rivals. The dragonlord also employs a host of ministers to watch her, fearing potential betrayal.[28]
Xian

An elder monk from the Jeskai Way.
Yala

A dragonslayer of the Sultai. She was framed for a poisoning attempt on Tasigur by the rakshasa and therefore executed.[29]
Yeffa

A Dromoka veteran who witnessed Anafenza's spirit defending their ranks. A broad woman with a broad grin and a penchant for storytelling.[3]
Yeran

A young male warrior serving under Yasova Dragonclaw after the Khanfall.[5]
Yikaro Yikaro, Atarka warrior

Zhao

A courageous Jeskai monk.
Zhiada Zhiada, Dirgur protector

The female human head warrior at Dirgur Sanctuary. She the teeth of an orc raiding party leader she slew strung on a necklace. Under her leadership, security at Dirgur is tight, outsiders are dealt with harshly.[28]
