History
Ancient Dominion
Lowallyn is the "Lord of Hidden Waters". During the Fall of the Primevals, Lowallyn imprisoned the blue Primeval, Dromar the Banisher in a cavern deep beneath the ocean, by luring the dragon to a massive hoard of treasure, thus satisfying its greed and robbing it of any will to conquer. By doing so, he received Dromar's powers.
Lowallyn participated in the fall of the white and the green Numena, leaving only himself, Kuberr, and Averru. They claimed dominion over the plane for 1,000 years until the birth of Karona caused the Fall of the Numena and Lowallyn's death.
Karona's War
Millennia later, Lorwallyn was reincarnated as the illusionist Ixidor. After being freed from the death wurm by Kamahl, he asserted his will into the one-armed illusionist's body. He united with the other Numena to destroy Karona and stop Karona's War. Still, he was killed when Karona withdrew the world's magic and then assaulted the city of Averru, leaving Lowallyn with very little countermagic. Karona tried to kill them all by encasing them in a solid block of stone, and while Lowallyn was freed from the block, Kuberr was left trapped inside too long and suffocated. Lowallyn was freed by Kamahl and Stonebrow, and used what magic he had regained to heal Kamahl and create a magma giant that chased off Karona's army. However, Karona took control of the magma giant and turned it on his creator, stomping Lowallyn to death with his massive burning foot.[1]
Scourge continuity issue
Lowallyn, along with several other popular characters, is part of a heavily debated continuity issue concerning the Scourge novel. While Karona summoned Lowallyn, Fiers, Multani, Teferi, and Yawgmoth, that meeting was later retconned without further explanation.
