Information
Plane Dominaria
Type Island
Part of Benalia (politically), the Domains
Formerly part of Sheoltun Empire

The Spice Isles are a chain of islands in the the Domains of Dominaria.[1] They are located to the west of the continent of Aerona, and are made up of sparsely populated islands stretching towards far-off Terisiare. Throughout the years they have been used by sailors as rest stops on the long ocean voyage between the continents.

History

The Spice Isles were ruled by pirates before they were conquered by the Sheoltun Empire. Later, Benalia assumed control over them. During the Time Spiral crisis, the Spice Isles became the home of Tolaria West. Benalia lost its hold during the Rift Era, but reestablished itself in the Mending Era.[2]

Within the present-day Spice Isles, a haven for planeswalkers exists called Sanctum. It is shielded from external threats by Thran metal, a metal with magical properties created by the Thran in the Mana Rig. The metal is nearly indestructible and grows perpetually.[3]
