The Fall of the Numena was an event during the last part of the Mythohistory of Dominaria.
History
The Numena ruled Dominaria for a thousand years toward the end of Mythohistory. During this millennium of rule, Kuberr, Averru, and Lowallyn conspired together to overthrow and kill the white and the green Numena to prevent even their competition for power. The three also toppled King Themeus.
When he had finally grown feeble, Averru set up a spell that would eventually resurrect himself, then started a war with the other two to power the spell. The others attacked to steal the spell for themselves. During this conflict, their powers accidentally gave birth to the being they called Mother; the living incarnation of magic itself. This magnificent and mighty entity called itself Karona, and the Numena knew that she was a threat of the greatest measure. Laying down their rivalries, they focused on destroying her before she could discover the scope of her full powers. Karona existed for only thirteen months before the Numena managed to destroy her, though the effort cost the Numena both their power and their very lives.
