After half his clan was transported to Grixis, he was killed by Thraximundar.[4]

Kemuel, the Hidden One

Son of the sphinxes Crucius and Sharuum, who guards The Riddle Gate, a planar portal at the center of the Crystal Labyrinth in Esper's Glass Dunes. Known on Esper as the great sphinx of the desert maze.[14] He lost a wing and hind leg in a fight with a great Leviathan centuries before the Conflux, and the few travelers that meet him find his words and his advice to be prophetic.

A canticle bearing his name that some attribute to him tells of the finding of the city, and must be recited to re-enter it. A massive gold and jade statue within the city is thought to depict him.[19]

Elnor

A former Riveteer who, together with her girlfriend Shadress, Yuma, and several others, left the Riveteers to start their own co-operative.[38] While initially successful, the corrupt nature of life on Cappena, a series of setbacks and a failed robbery on a Brokers-controlled train left the group poor and splintering. Shadress, suffering from depression at the loss of the group's ideals, passed away and Yuma abandoned the group with the last of its funds. Elnor tasked herself with tracking Yuma down and enlisted the aide of a fire-breathing snake demon. She found Yuma on Thunder Junction and the two battled each other through Yuma's bar while Elnor demanded the missing money. The fight ended when the burning bar was drenched by the plane's sudden rainstorms and Kirri created a new structure, and new life, using its cactus-like vine magic. Elnor agreed to let bygones be bygones and left with the snake demon to forge a new life of her own.

A tailor and former Riveteer who, together with her girlfriend Elnor, Yuma, and several others, left the Riveteers to start their own co-operative in New Capenna.[38] Shadress acted as an informal leader of the group, often providing motivation in the form of similes and a level of morality for the group to follow. While initially successful, the group soon came up against the corrupt nature of life on Cappena and was forced to turn to crime to survive. A series of setbacks with the group's living situation led Shadress to suggest they buy a building but the loan required increasing their rate of theft. A failed robbery on a Brokers-controlled train left the group poor and splintering. Shadress, suffering from depression at the loss of the group's ideals, withdrew and faded away. Yuma speculated that Shadress had died when he noticed Elnor was fighting in a similar style to Shadress during their brawl in his bar.
