The Carriage Road is an old and storied road on the plane of Ulgrotha, winding through the edge of the Great Wood. This road was once a favored route of Baron Sengir, who would travel its length in his ominous Black Carriage, drawn by his fearsome steeds and often inspiring dread among those who glimpsed him passing by, especially in the days before the rise of the Autumn Willow.
History
The Carriage Road passed directly in front of the well-known An-Havva Inn, a gathering place for the local folk of An-Havva and weary travelers alike. It was along this stretch of road that one fateful incident unfolded: the planeswalkers Feroz and Serra intervened to save Cassie An-Havva, a resident of An-Havva, narrowly rescuing her from being trampled beneath the Baron's powerful horses as his carriage thundered by.[1]
In the aftermath of this encounter, Baron Sengir, ever the master of unsettling courtesy, extended an invitation to Feroz and Serra to visit Castle Sengir, his dark and imposing stronghold deep within the lands of Ulgrotha. They reluctantly accepted, and allowed the carriage to bring them up the road to the castle, though they declined any food there. Sengir sensed the budding couple's power, and decided to lay low until the planeswalkers no longer saw him as a threat.
