Celesta (Japanese: セレスタ) is a plane and the setting of the Dreamcast game Magic: The Gathering. It was ruled by a Supreme Council, led by Elder Yagoche until it was overthrown by Ā. The Supreme Council returned to power after Ā was defeated by Tyler.[1]

Description

Celesta is a "frontier" plane, isolated from the rest of the Multiverse.[2]

History

Celesta was a largely peaceful plane ruled by a Supreme Council that kept the balance between the plane's five regions, each associated with a color of mana.[2] At some point, Ā planeswalked to Celesta and quickly took over the world, installing an apprentice to lead each of the five regions. Elder Yagoche, head of the Supreme Council, cast a protective spell on the village of Magic Heart, keeping it from the planeswalker. As the plane's mana balance was disrupted, the village's defenses gradually waned. Multiple heroes attempted to rise against Ā, but were each defeated by his apprentices. Several years after the invasion, Tyler defeated each of the five regional leaders and their apprentices and overthrew Ā.

  • Balance Tower, headquarters of Ā. Destroyed after his defeat by Tyler.
