Kaladesh Remastered is a Magic Arena-specific reprint set that was released on November 12, 2020.[2][3] It combines cards from Kaladesh and Aether Revolt.[4]
Description
Kaladesh Remastered features the set-defining cards and iconic mechanics you remember from both Kaladesh and Aether Revolt but with updated gameplay to make this a fun and fresh experience. The combined card count from across these two sets has landed at 301 cards (104 commons, 97 uncommons, 63 rares, 22 mythic rares, 15 basic lands) (12 have two different illustrations), with a focus on the Limited play experience (Draft and Sealed), Pioneer, and continued support for Historic.
The cards are obtainable in MTG Arena boosters, Limited events (Sealed and Draft), and through crafting.
There are some very powerful cards and mechanics in this set, both for Limited and Constructed play, and R&D felt that adding Inventions or other cards from Magic's past felt like it pushed the power level a little too far for their comfort.[5] The exception is Sculpting Steel, which is considered this set's "Buy-a-Box" promo, similar to how Regal Caracal was treated in Amonkhet Remastered (this means you'll receive a copy when purchasing certain booster bundles, and you can craft it using Wildcards, but it is not available in booster packs).
Mechanics
While many of the mechanics from the original block look familiar, others have been remastered to fit the updated look and feel of MTG Arena. Energy counters (marked with an ), Crew, Fabricate, Improvise, and Revolt all make a return.[6]
Cycles
Kaladesh Remastered has nine cycles:
Triplet
Kaladesh Remastered has one triplet.
Modules | Description | ||
---|---|---|---|

Mirrored Pairs | Description | |
---|---|---|
Built to Last () |
Built to Smash () |
A white and a red combat trick respectively, each giving a boost to target creature and indestructible or trample respectively if it's an artifact. The art and flavour text both appear to be in sequence as well. |
Matched Pairs | Description | |
Live Fast () |
Die Young () |
Two black cards which names form a famous unofficial slogan of rock&roll and punk subcultures. These cards also represent a short life of aetherborn and have a synergy between them |
