Description
Amelia stands tall and imposing, her stature as commanding as a foremast. Her frame is solid and sturdy, reflecting her role's demands and her resilient nature. Her face is round, with eyes that sparkle with intelligence and a hint of sternness, framed by her wind-tossed hair. She wears a well-worn coat with deep pockets, always prepared for any situation at sea.
Amelia's known for her no-nonsense attitude, managing the day-to-day operations of the ship with a firm but fair hand. Her crew respects her not only for her authority but also for her fairness in distributing plunder and pay. As a talented helmsmage, her magic skills are crucial for the ship's operations, and she isn't above using her abilities for discipline when necessary. Amelia's dedication to the ship and crew is unwavering, and she has earned her position through a combination of skill, strength, and an indomitable spirit. Her loyalty is matched only by the crew's fear of crossing her, knowing she has a knack for creative punishments involving her mastery of sails and knots. Her practical nature, combined with a friendly and approachable demeanor, made her a respected and likable figure among the crew.
History
When Vraska decided to follow the thaumatic compass south, Amelia relayed the captain's orders to the crew, ensuring they adjusted the course accordingly. Later, when a castaway was spotted, Amelia prepared the dinghy as instructed by Vraska and accompanied her and Edgar to retrieve the man, who turned out to be Jace Beleren. Despite initial hostility, Vraska decided to keep Jace aboard. During an encounter with a vampire ship from the Legion of Dusk, Amelia, along with the rest of the crew, sprang into action under Vraska's command. She used her magic to raise the sails and prepare the ship for battle. Amelia played a crucial role in integrating Jace into the crew. She demonstrated her skills and taught him various tasks with a mix of magical ease and practical challenge, particularly in adjusting the ship's mainsails and ropes.
When Vraska's crew ran through the jungle towards Orazca, Amelia used a piece of sail canvas to trap Huatli, making her drop the Thaumatic Compass. Huatli attempted to use her magic to summon dinosaurs, but the pirates fled before she could retaliate. Amelia and the rest of Vraska's crew followed the compass to Orazca. As they approached, the city began to rise from the jungle, causing an earthquake and a flood. Amid the turmoil, Vraska and Jace fell into a river at the base of the newly emerged city. Amelia joined the other pirates in marching into Orazca, where Malcolm and Breeches played a part in its reclamation.
