"Abuelo" (lit. "grandfather") was a Komon Winaq human warrior from Ixalan. He died in Topizielo and his Echo was later summoned by Quintorius Kand.

Description

Abuelo's focus object is a poncho made of cosmium thread. It is woven in shades of purple, green, blue, and a deep blood-red. Based on his name, he likely had one or more grandchildren.

History

Abuelo was granted the key to open the seal at Matzalantli when the door was sealed to protect the Core from the spread of the mycoids. He later died fighting the mycoids in the Komon city of Topizielo. When Quintorius Kand discovered Abuelo's poncho centuries later in 5 Dawn Era, he cast "The Rousing," returning Abuelo as an Echo.

Abuelo accompanied the Imperial soldiers through Matzalantli and introduced them to the soldiers of the Thousand Moons charged with protecting the door. Later, when the Mycotyrant itself invaded the Core through the open door, Abuelo and his wife, who was also an Echo, helped fend the mycoids off until Breeches destroyed the giant fungus.
