The Sharpest Steel is Tempered in Fire.

Mirrodin Pure was one of 2 possible names for the 3rd set in the Scars of Mirrodin block, as Wizards of the Coast did not want to reveal the victor of the Phyrexian/Mirran conflict.[1][2][3][4] It was what Mirrodin would have become had the Mirrans defeated the Phyrexians.[5] On March 29, 2011, it was announced that the new set would in fact be called New Phyrexia.[6]

Only one card was ever printed with the Mirrodin Pure expansion symbol , a version of Pristine Talisman previewed at the Mirrodin Besieged Game Day.[7]
