Kemba is a relative of Raksha Golden Cub and was the ruler of the remaining leonin in the Razor Fields of Mirrodin.

History

As a young skyhunter, Kemba led hundreds of leonin to safety during Memnarch's ascendancy.[1]

When the elder generation of Mirrans disappeared, Kemba was chosen as the leonin's new leader. At first, she refused to take the title kha, preferring to be known as "Regent," the surrogate leader in Raksha's absence. She regretted that the Obu-Tal rebel pride splintered off from her Kha-Tal pride, and struggled to make overtures to Juryan, kha of the Obu-Tal, even as she's forced to fight them. She vowed to reunify the prides again one day, and secretly feared that Raksha would return while the prides were still divided. She oversaw the reconstruction of Taj-Nar, helping to restore the morale and dignity of the leonin.

Kemba united the remaining leonin abunas in their fight against the Phyrexians. Although originally reluctant to take on the revered title of "Kha," she eventually took it on to give her people a banner of hope to rally behind.[2]

Kemba now serves as an advisor to the Vulshok Planeswalker, Koth, and was a key voice in bringing the dissonant Mirran cultures into strong resistance.[2]
