Toxic is a static keyword ability that allows the use of multiple poison counters.^[1] It was introduced in Phyrexia: All Will Be One as a reworking of Poisonous.

Instead of giving poison counters as a triggered ability like Poisonous, Toxic acts more like Lifelink, adding the counters instantaneously.^[2]^[3]
