Parley is an ability word introduced in the multiplayer Conspiracy set.
Description
Parley abilities instruct each player to reveal the top card of their library. Then, an additional effect happens based on the number of nonland cards revealed this way. Finally, each player draws a card (the one that was just revealed).[1][2][3]
Its design space was found limited while designing, resulting in a short list of cards. It made a small reappearance in the Streets of New Capenna Commander decks (Phabine, Boss's Confidant) and later in the March of the Machine Commander decks (Cutthroat Negotiator).
Rulings
- Except in some very rare cases, the card each player draws will be the card revealed from the top of their library.
Examples
Example
Rousing of Souls
Sorcery
Parley — Each player reveals the top card of their library. For each nonland card revealed this way, you create a 1/1 white Spirit creature token. Then each player draws a card.
