Tempting offer is an ability word introduced in Commander 2013. It has only appeared on sorceries.

A tempting offer allows a player to perform a certain beneficial action and then gives all opponents the chance to perform the same action. Then, for each opponent who does, the player may repeat the action.

Examples

Tempting offer — Put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control. Each opponent may put a +1/+1 counter on each creature they control. For each opponent who does, put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control.

Rulings

  • Opponents decide in turn order whether or not they accept the offer, starting with the opponent on the left. Each opponent will know the decisions of previous opponents in turn order when making their decision.
  • After each opponent has decided, the effect happens simultaneously for each one who accepted the offer. Then, the effect happens again for the acting player a number of times equal to the number of opponents who accepted.
