Tacenda Verlasen is a planeswalker and songmage from Innistrad.[1]
History
Youth
Tacenda and het twin sister Willia were born in the Approaches of Kessig, as daughters of a pair of clothing makers. They were each born with a curse: Tacenda would go blind with the rising of the sun, while Willia experienced the same when it became night. There was never a time that both could see. It was the curse of the Bog, people whispered. Tacenda discovered she loved to sing, and that her songs had the magical ability of warding and protection from the monsters in the woods. Meanwhile, Willia found a similar strength while she fought with a sword. She became a fearsome warrior. Because of their protection, their hometown of Verlasen became a safe haven and thrived because of it.
The Whisperers
Just after the girls turned fifteen, everything went wrong. Their parents were attacked in the woods and killed. Not long after Willia was killed as well, reportedly by the Lord of the Manor. Then, strange geists attacked the village. The green deformed shapes sucked the souls of the villagers away and left cold corpses behind. At this important moment, the blind Tacenda found out that her Song of Protection failed her. She was unable to save them.
Meeting Davriel
Thinking to have heard his footsteps during the attack, the bereft Tacenda blamed the mysterious Lord of the Manor for everything that had happened. Waiting for dusk and the return of her eyesight, she decided to take revenge and kill him.
