Brisela, Voice of Nightmares was an Eldrazi horror created from the melded bodies of the archangels Bruna and Gisela during the Emrakul incursion on Innistrad.
Description
Once revered as two of Innistrad’s most powerful angels, Bruna and Gisela fell under Emrakul’s influence along with other members of the Flight of Herons and Flight of Goldnight.[1]
Consumed by Emrakul’s corruption, they were physically fused through a process called Meld, becoming a single towering monstrosity — half angel, half Eldrazi — and a living symbol of Emrakul’s reshaping of Innistrad’s reality.[2] As Brisela, they spread nightmares and terror across Thraben and the surrounding provinces, hunting the remaining Cathars, herons, and uncorrupted angels alike.
History
Brisela’s rampage ended during the Battle of Thraben, when Thalia, guided by the spirit of Saint Traft and aided by Sigarda, confronted and defeated the abomination to free Innistrad’s people from its nightmare song.[3] Brisela’s death marked one of the final turning points before Emrakul’s self-imposed imprisonment in Innistrad’s moon.
