Shilgengar is an extremely powerful demon lord who indirectly created the vampires of Innistrad,[1] including the planeswalker Sorin Markov.[2]
Description
Shilgengar caused a great famine in the lands of what would become Stensia and then manipulated the aging human alchemist Edgar Markov into turning to blood magic to find food for his kin. During Shilgengar's Ritual, Edgar strung the angel Marycz up in his laboratory and exsanguinated her, then shared her blood with the nobility of Innistrad, creating the vampire bloodlines of the plane.[1]
