Olgard is a famed slayer and shieldbearer, traveling the land as a noble agent of the Skiltfolk of Nephalia on Innistrad. He is the father of the Gitrog monster cultist Mia.
History
Olgard left his daughter Mia in charge of their farm and went to serve with the Skiltfolk of Nephalia. While he was away, several villagers from his home fell to the Gitrog monster, and his daughter became one of its cultists.
Although humanity's great last stand during the Travails would be at the Battle of Thraben, Nephalia's coast was lined with smaller battlefields. Resistance came from all quarters: cathars, the skiltfolk mercenaries, merchants, elders - anyone who managed to resist Emrakul's corrupting influence and maddening presence for any time. The skiltfolk leader Olgard, who had spent months investigating the coastal cults, became a leader of this resistance, mustering his surviving companions to organize and train other defenders.[2]
