Lambholt, also known as The Threatened Pasture, is a farming village in the province of Kessig on Innistrad. Surrounded by open pastureland once carved from the edge of the Ulvenwald, Lambholt is known for its livestock and its constant struggle against attacks by werewolves and other dark creatures.[1]

Description

Lambholt lies at the heart of miles of sheep, goat, and cattle pasture. The land near the village was once covered by dense forest connected to the Ulvenwald, but local settlers cleared nearly all of it to make room for farms. Many believe the spirits of the wild resent this destruction, and werewolves frequently attack the village's livestock and people.[2]

The villagers once marked the rise of the red harvest moon with an autumn festival, gathering by bonfires to prepare large feasts of fresh meat and vegetables. After the Avacyn's disappearance and the weakening of protective wards, the festival evolved into a hunters' contest, where villagers and champions enter the Ulvenwald in search of powerful beasts. Many hunters never return.[2]

For a time, Lambholt was also terrorized by the horror known as Old Stickfingers, until it was driven off with the help of the astronomer mage Vadrik and inquisitor Rem Karolus.[3]
