Boreal Ridge is a rimekin settlement in Shadowmoor. Its Lorwyn counterpart is also called Boreal Ridge.
Description
Boreal Ridge is a collection of smooth stone houses that clings to the ragged edge of a frosty cliff.[1][2] Muted blues and purples glow from within the dwellings. As a small settlement, Boreal Ridge is home to 100 residents. Most are rimekin, but a handful of flamekin and hardy kithkin also reside here. Those seeking mastery over their own skills or a quiet place to study are welcome here. The community is led by the rimekin Sarak.
Boreal Ridge hosts Ice Forge, a smithy where iron is tempered with frozen flames to create smithing masterworks.[1] The forge fires create a persistent layer of mist that hovers above the settlement. A place of collaboration, artisans of Ice Forge share their knowledge and work together to hone their skills. The forge's creations are each as unique as their creators.
History
Boreal Ridge formed when a branch of Realmbreaker created an unnatural cliffside during the New Phyrexian Invasion in 4562 AR.[1][2] A small congregation of rimekin later created the settlement's first buildings.
