Kami War
During the Kami War, Jugan was summoned by the Fudaiju Monks and later by the orochi along with the Myojin of Life's Web. Eventually he died and passed his strength on to the monks.
Centuries after the Kami War, Ryusei was the only spirit dragon to remain alive. The dragons had been some of the mortal realm's strongest protectors, and with most of them gone, other malevolent forces soon began to wreak havoc. During the Shattered States Era, a wave of oni attacks swept across the land, culminating in a devastating event known as the Night of Withering that threatened the entire Kamigawa. In an effort to fight back, the orochi enacted a powerful ritual to resurrect Jugan, their original protector. The ritual was successful, and together Jugan and Ryusei defeated the oni incursion.[1]
However, Jugan could tell something was wrong. While he had lain dead, the plane had changed. While he was still powerful, he was no longer connected with Kamigawa as he had once been. For the dragons to return and assume their rightful places on the plane once more, it would have to be in new incarnations. Jugan embarked on a journey to collect the remaining essences of the other three dragons, then placed them all inside an egg. he and Ryusei willingly placed themselves in the egg as well and fell into a deep sleep. The egg was sealed into the heart of Boseiju, where it was nurtured for fifty years.[1]
Neon Dynasty
Along with the other ryuu, Jugan was reborn after a fifty-year slumber in an egg beneath Boseiju. His new form was that of .[1]
