Heiko Yamazaki (yah-mah-ZAH-kee)[1] is a human samurai member of the Asari Uprisers in Kamigawa. She is a descendant of the Yamazaki clan.

History

The only daughter of a long line of Imperial advisors, Heiko Yamazaki grew disillusioned after she experienced a tragic accident with her cousin. When she was eight, an accident at the Eiganjo merge gate caused her cousin Norika to be injured by a kami. This incident opened her eyes to how Imperial strictures on technological innovation disproportionately affected certain segments of the populace.

Blaming herself, she left the Imperial Palace after her eighteenth birthday and quickly found her way to the Asari Uprisers, where she made a name for herself as one of the movement's most brilliant guerilla fighters and a trusted advisor to Risona, leader of the Uprisers. When she was 20, she fell in love with the Upriser cook Chiye.[2]

Stationed in Sokenzanshi, she's managed to repel every Imperial attempt so far to stabilize their hold in the mountainous city, but eventueally was forced to confront her cousin and former childhood friend, Norika.[3]
