She was paralyzed for weeks afterwards and hospitalized for nine months, and only after receiving a neuroprosthesis was she able to control the pain. Nonetheless, she trained as a samurai at the Imperial academy and became an aide to the Imperial advisor Naomi soon after her graduation. At age eighteen, she became chief handler of the Eiganjo merge gate, a position she held for four years before becoming Commander of the Imperial garrison at Sokenzanshi.
