Silundi, or the Silundi Sea, is the vast stretch of coastal waters that surround the islands of Ondu on the plane of Zendikar. Its channels and bays connect Ondu’s three major islands— Agadeem, Beyeen, and Jwar Isle — to the mainland and each other.
Geography
Bay of Beyeen
The Bay of Beyeen is the wide channel separating Agadeem and Beyeen.[1] It serves as a major passage for traders and explorers navigating between the two islands and the mainland.
Agadeem
Agadeem - Ondu’s largest island. It is best known for its hedron fields and cryptic tombs:
- Fields of Agadeem — open plains scattered with ancient hedron ruins that distort natural laws. Visitors report strange visions, such as drifting masks.
- Crypt of Agadeem
— an elaborate underground tomb containing the sealed Cryptlock. The crypt is from the Eldrazi era, meaning it is from around -1400 AR.[2]
- Crypt Maw
— a vast bat-infested cavern that marks the tomb’s haunted entrance.
- Cryptlock
— the innermost sealed chamber, binding thousands of dead within its walls.
- Crypt Maw
- Kabira
— once a kor hunting plateau and crossroads settlement near the hedron fields. It was destroyed by Ulamog’s brood.[3]
Beyeen
Beyeen is a medium-sized island that sits between Agadeem and Jwar Isle. It is volcanic and geothermally active, with vibrant rainforests nestled among its lava flows.
- Crown of Talib
— a range of floating volcanic peaks named for Talib, the kor god of the earth.
- Zulaport
— a busy coastal trade port populated by mages, explorers, and artisans of many races. Zulaport was once controlled by the vampire Indorel.[1]
The Serpent’s Maw
The Serpent’s Maw is the storm-lashed sea that isolates Jwar Isle from the rest of Ondu.
Jwar Isle
Jwar Isle - known as the Isle of Secrets, the smallest and most remote of Ondu’s major islands. Shrouded in storms and myth, it holds many hidden wonders:
- Jwari Faduun — massive pre-Eldrazi stone heads scattered across the isle, where pilgrims bury their dead in reverence.[5]
- The Jwari Ruins
- half-submerged ruins riddled with pitfalls and traps, left behind when the skyclave rose into the sky.[6]
- The Ondu Skyclave
— an ancient kor ruin containing ancient labs, lethal traps, and the former lair of Grakmaw.[7]
- Strand of Jwar
— a pure blue strand of aether that glows and beams skyward from a saltwater pool.
