Sabra is a mercenary from Zendikar, who fell afoul of Anowon on one of her expeditions, but lived to tell the tale.

Description

Sabra has long dark hair usually tied back in a ponytail, and a notable ropey scar marks her neck, a testament to her near-fatal encounter with Anowon. As an expedition mercenary, Sabra is equipped with practical and durable gear suitable for both travel and combat. Despite being a fresh sell-sword, Sabra shows remarkable courage and resilience, managing to strike down a formidable creature and recover a relic chest. Sabra is acutely aware of the lurking dangers and the feeling of being watched throughout the expedition, indicating a heightened sense of alertness and paranoia. Her will to survive is strong, as evidenced by her ability to stay conscious long enough to identify her attacker even after a severe injury.

History

Around the time of the Worldwake, Sabra was a new sell-sword and joined her first expedition out of the Murasa Expedition House. The party was hired by a mysterious figure, referred to as a "Beyond Man", to find a chest with a specific draconic symbol. The expedition faced numerous problems: disappearing supplies, pack-hurdas dying from tainted water, and the mysterious and brutal death of their healer. Sabra sensed something following their every move through the wilderness, adding to the growing tension and danger of the journey.

Inside the tomb beneath Carnage Altar, the party located the dragon relic chest, but were immediately attacked by a terrifying creature, described by Sabra as a cross between a hydra and a skeletal beast. Most of her party was killed, but Sabra managed to deliver the killing blow to the monster.

After recovering the chest, Sabra was ambushed by Anowon, who emerged from the shadows and slit her throat. She fell to the ground and lost consciousness, but managed to catch a glimpse of Anowon, confirming her attacker's identity.

Later research indicated that the chest likely contained crucial information about the Eye of Ugin, a mysterious cave believed to be hidden in the mountains of Akoum.

Despite her near-fatal wound, Sabra survived the expedition and returned to tell her employer of what had happened.
