Zada (Zah-dah)[1] is a goblin leader of the Tuktuk tribe in Zendikar.

History

Struck by the insight that the rarest and most powerful artifact was Tuktuk himself, Zada convinced the other goblins that Tuktuk was contaminated by contact with the Eldrazi and was a dangerously unreliable leader. She assured them that destroying the construct and consuming its essence would make them virtually immune to the Eldrazi and perhaps confer other benefits as well. The goblins in attendance rose and overthrew Tuktuk, shattering him into many pieces, which they then devoured.

Zada took over the tribe, directing them to prepare for survival in a world rapidly consumed by the Eldrazi. She reasoned that places already drained of their power would not be bothered again by the monstrous broods, so the goblins established settlements in lands that had already been desiccated by Ulamog. Looking for ways to build secure shelter amid the brittle white residue of Akoum's rocky ground, the goblins developed domes that hung from stone spires or clung to sides of cliffs and experimented with building on a solid slab constructed amid the chalky waste.[2] Continuing the practice she began when she dispatched Tuktuk, Zada now grinds hedrons to dust and consumes them, hoping to absorb their power.[3]

Zada fought in defense of Zendikar during the New Phyrexian Invasion.[4][5]
