Verazol is a colossal, two-mouthed serpent that inhabits the area around the Magosi Waterfall on Tazeem, a region of Zendikar.
History
The Magosi Waterfall is the tallest waterfall along the Umara River, with water plunging nearly 300 feet down a sheer cliff face.[1] Near the top of this waterfall lies a portage area commonly used by travelers as a resting spot. However, this location is far from safe due to Verazol's presence in a submerged cave hidden behind the cascading water.
Verazol is known for its remarkable ability to swim both up and down the waterfall with ease, hunting in two distinct zones.[2] Its upper mouth is notorious for attacking unfortunate travelers who rest too close to the falls, while its lower mouth primarily feeds on the abundant fish that spawn at the base of the waterfall.
During one particularly deadly assault on a merfolk commercial caravan navigating near the Magosi Waterfall, the serpent struck with lethal force. Akiri and Zareth San attempted to defend the caravan but were ultimately unsuccessful, surviving as the only two from the attack.[3]
