Enkindi was the leader of a band of Kor kitesailers from Zendikar, who recruited Drana and her vampires to fight for Gideon's forces during the Battle for Zendikar.
Description
Enkindi was brave, tall, and thin, but with a good amount of lean muscle.
Battle for Zendikar
During the Battle for Zendikar, Gideon sent Enkindi and his kitesailers to Guul Draz to look for any survivors to join the fight at Sea Gate. He met Drana and her force of vampires there and made attempts to recruit her to their cause, although she was skeptical at first.
Then, when Enkindi saw that Drana's forces numbered children, including kor like Melindra, he was horrified, but Drana did not offer any apologies, calling them little warriors. Melindra herself did not seem phased at what she was participating in, agreeing that she was part of a brigade, the Orphans' Brigade, despite her age.
They were facing a Sire of Stagnation and had no way of escaping to Gideon's encampment without defeating it first. Enkindi agreed to have his kitesailers join in the fight if only to save the children of the camp.
Enkindi led the charge directly into the head of the Eldrazi sire. The head and neck of the creature seemed the most vulnerable to blade and rupture. Though Enkindi and his group were moving fast, the Eldrazi moved faster. A large tentacle from the Eldrazi's head wrapped itself around Enkindi's body, while a smaller attached tentacle wrapped itself around Enkindi's head. The tentacle squeezed and tore the kor's head off, breaking his flight. Enkindi's headless corpse, still attached to its broken kitesail, plummeted to the ground, while his kor were being slaughtered as the Eldrazi sire's numerous appendages lashed and pummeled them out of the skies.
Drana had a desperate plan, however insane it may be, to drain the life essence of the Eldrazi Sire, but Enkindi did not live to see this play out. However, his sacrifice did help spare the lives of Melindra and many of the other warrior children, and Drana and the rest of her survivors did join Gideon at Sea Gate.
