Kiki-Jiki was an akki of Sokenzan on Kamigawa, who could duplicate creatures with a special brand of illusionism.

Kiki-Jiki was born the fourth child of his family. His siblings and parents were, like most akki families, abusive. His constant antics often got him in trouble with the tribe elder, Paku-Paku. One day, finally fed up with Kiki-Jiki's escapades, Paku-Paku drove Kiki-Jiki from the tribe. Searching for food, Kiki-Jiki heard the murmur of an underground river. After digging frantically, the ground collapsed beneath him and he passed out.

Kiki-Jiki awoke in a dark, dry cave, swept there by the underground river. Unable to find an escape, he finally accidentally plummeted through a deep pit, and landed in a dragon's lair. The dragon took a liking to Kiki-Jiki and recognized his magical potential. He flew Kiki-Jiki to Oboro and tasked him with stealing his ancient pearl from the soratami ambassador Meloku. During his quest, Kiki-Jiki encountered one of the soratami's enchanted mirrors. He discovered that his reflection was moving independently. Kiki-Jiki shattered the mirror, and his reflection escaped. The two Kiki-Jikis split up, and the reflection was captured, but Kiki-Jiki escaped and began to hone his magical talent as one of the greatest duplication sorcerers in Kamigawa.
