Uyo (OO-yoh;[1] Japanese: ウヨウ; rōmaji: Uyō) was the greatest of soratami seers and prophets, and one of the highest-ranked persona in the soratami hierarchy on Kamigawa.[2]

Description

She and her pupils, the "Disciples of Uyo", maintained the control of strategic decisions and long-term plans for the soratami society, communicating directly with their patron spirit, Mochi. Uyo was a strong telepath, highly skilled in astral projection, long-range psychic attacks and mental projections. She was mute, only able to speak telepathically, hence the moniker "silent".[1] Despite her cold demeanor, her actual and mental voice was rich and throaty. Her best disciple and right-hand was Chiyo.

Fight with Toshi Umezawa

When it was decided that a punishment upon Toshi Umezawa would be executed, Uyo took the task upon herself. Even without leaving her palace, she tortured Toshi with mental images and made him return to Sokenzan and almost return his stolen power to its bearer, the yuki-onna. However, the intervention of the Myojin of Night's Reach helped Toshi to regain his senses. Thanks to the myojin's power, Uyo could not break the bond with Toshi and escape the vision she herself created. This allowed Toshi to use the power of the yuki-onna to freeze her alive. Her body then toppled and shattered into frozen shards.
