Tallibeth Tarngold, or Talli for short, was the daughter of the human leader of the Valley of Tamingazin on Dominaria. She was Tagard Tarngold's only daughter. Her mother was killed by a Viashino, and she hates them for that.

Description

Talli was tall and slender, her hair was a great mass of curls and ringlets so pale they were almost white, and was described as "painfully beautiful". Hailing from the Human Holds on the far side of the Valley of Tamingazin from the city of Berimish, she had quite an exotic appearance between her unusual clothing and the gleaming amulets of polished stone and metal she wore.[1]

History

Talli grew up with a deep fear of Viashino, rooted in the trauma of her mother’s death at their hands for trespassing while picking fruit. As a leader of a raiding party in her father Tagard Tarngold's army, she was one of his most loyal supporters, commanding soldiers from Farson Hold, her family’s rural keep. Though illiterate, Talli learned to analyze maps during the war campaign. She was part of the procession that traveled to the Institute of Arcane Study to recruit Aligarius Timni to their cause and entered Berimish when her father took the city in a bloodless coup with Timni’s magical assistance.

Over time, Talli's animosity toward the Viashino began to soften, especially as she grew closer to her Garan friend Recin. This shift in perspective would prove invaluable after her father was assassinated during the Betrayal of Tamingazin by Suderbod Ambassador Ursal Daleel. Following the assassination, Tagard's general Karelon seized power in another coup. In response, Tallibeth recruited Lisolo, the former Bey of Berimish, and led a rebellion to reclaim the city.

Talli sent Recin on a mission to retrieve the stolen Magewall Hub from Timni, and used her map-reading skills to navigate a team through the city’s sewers, emerging near the docks where Karelon was holed up. They snuck into the building, confronted Karelon, and after dodging and blocking two dagger throws, Talli killed the general with a sword thrust.

Tallibeth then led the defense against the Suderbod forces, managing to hold out until the Magewall was restored by a repentant Aligarius Timni, securing the Valley’s survival.[1]
