Rael was a Garan Elf living in Tamingazin, part of Otaria on the plane of Dominaria. After he was promoted to rank gar, his name was changed from Rael Tak to Rael Gar.
Description
Rael had the distinctive sharp-chinned face, pale skin, and wide eyes of a Garan, his eyes a hard cold silver. He was studiously emotionless, managing to avoid most of the Garan emotion-colors in his eyes.[1]
History
Rael became part of the army of Tagard Tarngold, working as his advisor alongside Karelon. Despite his apparent lack of emotions, he was a violent and bloodthirsty man, making Talli feel unsafe around him, and openly wanting to kill fellow Garan Recin when he encountered him in Berimish. He was also responsible for the murder of Recin's father years earlier, after which he was promoted in rank from tak to gar. After working hard to get Recin and his mother Janin and aunt Getin executed, Rael was part of a meeting of the Council where Karelon revealed her plans for another coup. She had secretly drugged Rael's food and drink, so when he attacked her, his reflexes were dulled enough for her to stab him in his chest, killing him instantly.[1]
