Sachem Karelon Frie, commonly called Karelon, of Valiton Hold was the female general and advisor for Tagard Tarngold's army in the Valley of Tamingazin, part of the Otarian contient on Dominaria .[1]
Description
Karelon was an older, beautiful woman. She was small and very thin, but despite her size, she was not without considerable strength and speed, and her skill on the battlefield was unmatched. She had black hair and dark, severe features, and she wore black armor and a heavy gray jacket.[1]
History
Karelon had been the leader of her hold long before Tagard Tarngold united the people of the hills. Tagard’s daughter, Tallibeth Tarngold, had believed that Karelon would eventually marry her widowed father, but Karelon had other ambitions. When she saw that Tagard would not exterminate the Viashino of Berimish, she conspired with Suderbod Ambassador Ursal Daleel and had Tagard assassinated, and the Betrayal of Tamingazin was reality.
Karelon then called a council meeting, where she secretly drugged Rael Gar's food and drink, then killed him with her sword. Shocked by the betrayal, Tallibeth escaped the coup by throwing a steaming drink in Karelon's face and joining forces with Bey Lisolo’s Viashino and the Garan family led by Janin. Karelon began her rule by destroying the city's keep and holding out in the northern part of Berimish. But her reign came to a brutal end when Tallibeth, Janin, and the Viashino Heasos burst into her bedroom. After an attempt to kill them with throwing knives, Karelon was stabbed through by Tallibeth’s sword, bringing an end to her plans of domination.[1]
