Pardia is a mountain region on the continent Otaria on Dominaria. It is located south of Krosa.[1]
Description
The large mountain range of the Pardic Mountains stretches across the center of the continent from the edge of Krosa in the north to Wirewood Forest and the Daru Plains in the south. The range is not the tallest on Otaria, but one of the deepest.[2] The mountains were home to a variety of species, including dwarves, several tribes of human barbarians, firecats and other wild beasts, plus several goblins that were largely restricted to the Skirk Ridge.[3] Notable people from the mountains include Kamahl, Jeska, Balthor and Toggo.
History
Pardia was the home of Kamahl, who took an active role in the Battle for the Mirari in 4305 AR, and his sister Jeska, who became a victim of it. The battle was brought to Pardia when Kamahl brought the Mirari-infused sword with him from the destroyed Cabal City, and forced a challenge between any rival fighters from other barbarian clans in order to determine who would lead them all. Although Kamahl technically won the challenge, the barbarians refused to follow him in his madness, and after he gave his sister a lethal wound with his sword for trying to stop him, Kamahl realized he too had become warped by the artifact, and ceded the leadership over the barbarian tribes to Talon, his greatest challenger.[4]
However, already in 4307 AR, war returned to Pardia, as the Ixidoran faith had turned warlike, and those who refused to convert were slain.[5]
By the time of the Time Spiral crisis, the human barbarians of the Pardic range had become extinct, but the Skirk goblins continued to eke out a meager existence; at least one of the goblins' mines endured into later centuries, isolated enough from the surface world that its inhabitants did not know Otaria's devastation.[6] The fate of the dwarves is unknown.
