Martha Wells (born 1964) is an American writer of speculative fiction. She has published several fantasy novels, young adult novels, media tie-ins, multiple short stories, and nonfiction essays on fantasy and science fiction subjects.
Wells was hired as the head writer for twelve episodes behind Magic: The Gathering’s 78th expansion, Dominaria. As leader of Magic’s story team, she was driving the fiction and building the lore around the expansion, which marked not only the game's 25th anniversary but also a major event in the Magic franchise.[1][2]
