Ruby and Carmine Maurer, also known as the Twins of Maurer Estate, are a pair of notorious child vampires descended from the secluded Maurer bloodline in Stensia’s remote outland valleys. They inhabit the crumbling Maurer Estate, an isolated manor surrounded on the edge of human-settled territory. The estate, once the seat of their progenitor Strefan Maurer, is said to still shelter fledgling vampires who cling to its faded grandeur.

The twins are infamous for their cruel deception: they appear as helpless, lost girls, dressed in nobles' finery. They lure unwary travelers into the gloom near their ancestral home, where they delight in revealing their true natures and feed without mercy. The wandering monk Reig is among their known victims.

Their exact relation to their bloodline's progenitor, Strefan Maurer, is unknown.
