Ragnar was a gifted healer from Kusho on Dominaria.
Description
Ragnar looked enough like Gosta Dirk to be his younger brother. He was blond and nowhere near as towering as Gosta, but was tall and broad, with a thick beard and long, braided hair. He wore brass bands across his biceps and brass bracelets around his forearms, each with a colored gem lodged in its center. His face was stern but open.[1]
History
Ragnar used methods of raw green mana healing and was a devout worshipper of Gaea, the world goddess. He healed Kasimir the Lone Wolf from grievous injuries several times. He was part of Gosta Dirk's tribe, and for that, he was captured by the kentsu during their campaign on the island. He was put into the care of Barktooth Warbeard, who in reality was Halfdane posing as the Marshal. When Halfdane was left alone with Ragnar, he killed him and took his head, gazing into it for hours before throwing it off a cliff.[2][3]
Continuity
As early as 3335 AR, Hazezon Tamar used "By Ragnar's beard!" as one of his many colorful expressions.[4] Either Ragnar became exceptionally old or teleported through time somehow, or there was another bearded Ragnar 300 years before the Ragnar of Kusho's time.
