Legend of Jedit Ojanen (non-canon), Johan

Jaeger Ojanen was a tiger warrior and explorer from Efrava on Dominaria.

Description

Jaeger has orange-gold tiger-patterned hide and a great swath of snow-white chest. The furred tiger's face was a riot of black and gold stripes with two amber eyes, like the sun on a summer sea. His face had few human traits, except the muzzle was perhaps shorter than a tiger's and the tufted ears small. White muttonchops laid flat against Jaeger's cheeks, and a shock of mane stuck back stiffly as if pomaded. Altogether the face was a riot of orange, white, and black stripes, but his bristles were frosted white with age. His teeth too, though sharp and formidable, were worn thin, and whiskers were as thick as seagrass on the hills. He was heavy as a horse and nearly seven feet tall. His elongated fingers and toes were half the length of a man's and ended in claws as thick and black as shards of flint. He wore a simple bark harness decorated with a curious bronze buckle and a breechcloth of goatskin painted with a rude pattern of green and black triangles. He carried only gourds for water and a long knife of bronze.[1]

History

Jaeger was quite adventurous (similar to his son, Jedit Ojanen), and instead of staying in Efrava, he traveled the world. He crossed the great Sukurvian desert, and although he nearly died doing it, he was discovered by Hazezon Tamar and rescued. He stumbled directly into the start of Johan's War, and participated in the Battle of Bryce. He joined Adira Strongheart, traveling on her ship to Unawanna where he helped rescue the island's people from slavery. After Cole's death, his position in Adira's Circle of Seven went to Jaeger. Jaeger then traveled to Palmyra and on to the Sunken Sea, where he was captured by merfolk. The prisoners negotiated their release but encountered Johan's army on their way back. Jaeger participated in the Battle of Palmyra. This eventually led him to contact with the wizard Johan himself. The two battled atop a flailing fire drake, but Jaeger fell onto the sand and was eaten by a giant sand wurm. Johan thus became responsible for Jaeger's death. This chain of events caused Jaeger's son Jedit Ojanen to seek answers, and eventually, vengeance.[1]
