He can manipulate tremendous quantities of sand, creating sandstorms, whirling sand vortexes, barrages of arrows made from sand, pelting rain of sand, and entire walls of sand to block off paths.[1] | |

A huge and dour minotaur vizier of Bontu who serves within the Trial of Ambition by using fear magic to test the initiates. Near the end of the trial, he sits wearing a cloak of black flies that fly into the initiates eyes where they become ink that transforms the initiates' perception, making everything around them seem like some terrible horror, including their own crop mates. Eponokep resents his job and the initiates, but amuses himself at their fear.[1] | |

A dark-skinned man with gold-adorned dreadlocks.[7] Born c. 4537 AR, he was killed in the 2nd Ghirapur Grand Prix protecting Zahur. He was the first member of the team to be raised from death, wrapped in bright white linens that covered his body, including the large divot in his chest where the killing blow was dealt. His skin later grayed, and he was adorned with lotus petals in his braids and gold leaf on his beard.[8] | |

Along with her partner, Niharet, the last surviving crop-mate of Basri Ket.[9] After the War of the Spark, the two were among the crew who entombed Temmet. Four years later, they returned to the tomb with Basri, Marunaten and Merinaten to disentomb the former vizier. After Niharet revealed her allegiance to the Chitin Court and the Monarchs, the two split. Born c. 4540 AR, she has curly hair and carries a khopesh. | |

A monarch and follower of the Chitin Court.[9] A tall, skeletal figure, likely a human man in life, wrapped in armor and draped in tatters. His eyes glowed from two holes in his skull, and he wielded a spear topped with a sharpened half-sun. His strength and speed were magnified beyond a living human's. He led a group of six other monarchs to Temmet's pyramid to return the former vizier to the Chitin Court, but was stopped and possibly killed by Ketramose. | |

A minotaur vizier of Rhonas who oversees the Fertile Holding, preferring the company of beasts to people Unruly beasts are quelled with her mace. Though not an instruct, her physical prowess and grappling skills are a source of inspiration among intiates.[1] | |

Male minotaur initiate of Tah crop. He survived the Trial of Ambition by killing Tarik.[5] Nassor was killed during the Trial of Zeal, leaving Djeru as the last survivor of Tah crop. Later seen in eternalized form on Ravnica, where he was fought by Gideon Jura.[11] | |

A Chosen of Oketra, a vizier who trainins the acylotes in basic principles of battle strategies using hundreds of mummies to demonstrate battle formations and tacitcal maneuvers. She sends two mummy armies against each other and asks the acolytes to predict the outcome of the battle. Nerat asks the acolytes to analyse each side's battle strategies to learn by observation.[1] | |

A twinless and khenra born without a left arm, yet survived to become an acolyte, giving rumor that the soul of his unborn twin is inside him. His tenacity and drive led him to be chosen as a vizier of Rhonas. He now teaches hand-to-hand comnat to initiates and is one of the oldest living residents of Naktamun, while fur scarred and streaked with gray.[1] | |

A high-ranking aven vizier of Kefnet who is captain of the Hekma Guard. Responsible for anything that goes wrong with the Hekma, he is constantly anxious even his posisition is one of great honor. He is often seen fluttering about, taking frantic notes and muttering audibly to himself as he constantly blasts the Hekma with magic, testing it for weaknesses.[1] | |

She dresses in rich clothing, covers herself with opulent jewels, and eats only the finest food, exulting in her stately elegance which befits her exalted station. Fanned by mummies, she places bets and encourages rivalries among training initiates, and she loves to deflate her fellow viziers' egoes with a clever wager.[1] | |
