The Throne of the God-Pharaoh was a legendary artifact located in the heart of the city of Naktamun, on the desert plane of Amonkhet. This grand throne was positioned prominently on the sacred plaza of Imtara and was built under the direction of Nicol Bolas as part of his elaborate plan to shape the plane and its people in preparation for the War of the Spark. The throne symbolized his absolute power and served as a constant reminder to the people of Naktamun of the God-Pharaoh's promised return.

Description

The Throne of the God-Pharaoh was a massive, ornate seat designed to inspire awe and fear in equal measure. Stylized horns, reminiscent of Nicol Bolas's own sweeping, curved horns, rose dramatically from the top edges of the throne's backrest, marking it unmistakably as his symbol. The throne sat atop a raised dais in the middle of Imtara, the grand plaza at the city's center. Imtara itself was considered sacred ground, and its open space was dominated by the ever-present sight of the empty throne. Every trial, ritual, and celebration in Naktamun took place beneath its shadow, reinforcing the belief that the God-Pharaoh watched over his people from afar and would one day return to judge them. No citizen could pass through Imtara without looking up at the throne and imagining the final moment when their God-Pharaoh would descend to sit upon it.[1]

History

According to the teachings of the gods of Amonkhet, the Throne of the God-Pharaoh awaited the day when the mighty God-Pharaoh would take his place and fulfill his promise to deliver the worthy into the glorious afterlife.[1] During the Final Hours, Nicol Bolas finally appeared, manifesting above his throne and witnessing the culmination of his plan as the city fell to ruin, the gods lay slain, and the people were left helpless before his assembled Eternals.[2] After the devastation of Naktamun and Bolas's departure for Ravnica to wage the War of the Spark, the throne likely stood abandoned among the wreckage or was destroyed amid the chaos that followed.
