Marunaten and Merinaten (Meru and Meri) are a young pair of Human twins from Amonkhet.[1]
Description
They have sepia-toned skinned and dark, fluffy curled hair.[1]
History
Marunaten and Merinaten were trained as embalmers and were studying to be viziers of Hazoret before the Hour of Devastation.[1] They both volunteered to travel with Basri Ket, Mahitab, and Niharet across the Broken Lands to Temmet's tomb. Basri believed the twins to be the best embalmers in Naktamun.
On the second day of the trek, the group was attacked by a sandwurm and Merinaten was severely injured.[1] Her leg and arm were impaled by the creature's teeth. Basri used his sand magic to topple the wurm while Mahitab dealt the killing blow. Along with Niharet, the three had to pull Merinaten off the teeth to free her. Her injuries were treated with gauze, honey, and adhesive by Niharet. Marunaten demanded the group turn around and head back for medical care but Basri ultimately decided the group needed to press on.
At the tomb, Marunaten could do little more than shelter his injured sister while Niharet betrayed the group to the monarch Munhatep.[1] He witnessed Ketramose tear off the roof of the pyramid, assail Munhatep, and revive Temmet before leaving.
