Azor's Gateway is a legendary artifact and location on the plane of Ixalan. Azor's Gateway is a gateway on Ixalan created by Azor to his chamber - the Sanctum of the Sun. It is a magical threshold to his sanctum deep within Orazca, the golden city of the Sun Empire. Mechanically, the card’s transformation into Sanctum of the Sun mirrors the unlocking of Azor’s hidden sanctum. Once you’ve demonstrated mastery (by exiling five cards with different mana values), you gain access to a vast reservoir of mana. The gateway itself is a large gold and green door, several times taller than a normal human. Golden stairs lead up to the gateway. Jace Beleren discovered it and opened it to enter the inner Sanctum along with Vraska.
