Adanto is the Legion of Dusk's first and oldest established fort in Queen's Bay, situated on a small island just off the mainland coast.
History
The territory where Adanto was constructed had long been under the control of the native River Heralds before the arrival and landing of the Legion of Dusk. It was on these shores that the vampires first set foot on the continent of Ixalan, marking the beginning of their expansion in Year 0 of the Dawn Era. The fort takes its name from Adrian Adanto, the commander who first claimed these lands in the name of his queen and the empire she ruled. Adanto quickly became the Legion's primary base of operations and headquarters on the mainland, serving as the point from which the very first expeditions set out and where the conquest of all of Queen's Bay truly began. Relo of Garra acts as the representative of Queen Miralda, governing the fort and its surrounding territory from within the stronghold, while Elia Sotonores serves as the fort’s loyal viceroy and second-in-command.
Because of its strategic position and isolation, Adanto is constantly and persistently threatened by marauding pirates of the Brazen Coalition, who have repeatedly inflicted serious damage and hardship on the keep, its fortifications, and its residents over the years. Among the many losses suffered by the fort, the pirates’ raids have even led to the death of Viceroy Elia’s brother, Lucaz Sotonores, deepening the enmity between the Legion and the Brazen Coalition.
