Radian Aatchik is the wizened insectoid captain of the Speedbrood team that competed in the Ghirapur Grand Prix on Avishkar.[1] She is a learned druid of velocity and precision, who hails from a plane with an untranslatable name.[1]
Description
"Radian" is an honorific given to exemplary members of a brood, those who lance out into the unknown, as if driven by an assured, straight path of fate. Radians are leaders nearing their assumptive fate. Aatchik is a wizened Speedbrood highmind. She has earned herself the title of emerald radian for the year of the second Grand Prix and led her Speedbrood cohort of eager claimants ready to prove themselves in the race. To the Speedbrood, velocity is beauty, and thus the goal of the race was not only victory itself but the act of becoming one with the very concept of speed.
History
This was Aatchik's last race as a highmind before she would return home to fulfill her destiny. She hoped that, by winning the second annual Grand Prix, she would prove herself ready for metamorphosis into a Speedbrood vehicle. A win — or at least a good showing — would be an auspicious sign and ensure she'd enjoy the finest pupal baths to coax her form into its purest shape.[2]
In the final stage of the race, Aatchik's vehicle was wrecked, and she was mind-controlled by Jace Beleren, who was attempting to recover his adopted child Loot.[3]
