Li'l Giri is a warrior from a distant, unnamed plane. He appears to be a sapient, anthropomorphic onigiri, and is stated to have "an unknown filling".

Appearances

Giri was introduced on three alternate art Orb of Dragonkind "rice ball promos", illustrated by kawasumi. These were Japan-exclusive Buy-a-Box promos for Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, with each of the variants distributed to one of three groups of prefectures.[1] He was the featured character of Secret Lair Drop Series: Li'l Giri Saves the Day. A Li'l Giri Magic: The Gathering Arena avatar was sold to virtual attendees of Magic 30.[2]

History

Li'l Giri is described as "a brave li'l warrior from a distant li'l plane", with a strong sense of justice and sword skills.[3]

The three Orb of Dragonkind promo arts depict him stealing a glowing orb, escaping with it, and being surprised by the appearance of a dragon.[1] The flavor texts of his Secret Lair cards tell a story in which Giri rescues a child from being eaten by a robot.[4] Aside from the dragon and robot, all of the other characters shown on Li'l Giri's cards are also anthropomorphic onigiri.
