The Speedbrood is a racing team of alien insects and arthropods from an unknown plane that competed in the Ghirapur Grand Prix across Avishkar, Amonkhet and Muraganda.[1][2]
Description
The Speedbrood is an odd team of racers from a plane with an untranslatable name who came to race the Grand Prix for similarly untranslatable reasons, much to the excitement of the Avishkari press.[1] To an individual, they were a gregarious presence in the garages of the Grand Prix, fond of polytonal communal singing, tea brewing, and fine textile trade. The Speedbrood are nocturnal, restless unless they are racing, and always ready to talk — even if neither party can comprehend what the other is saying. They wear masks and spiked, black leather clothes, have fire-edged claws, and use fire-spitting staffs as weapons.[3]
The Brood's team captain in the second annual interplanar Ghirapur Grand Prix was Radian Aatchik.[1]
Vehicles
To the Speedbrood, velocity is beauty.[4]
They crew living vehicles with which they have developed a symbiotic relationship.[1] Speedbrood members are born as a clutch of grubs who each aspire to achieve the title of Radian.[5] Radians are Brood leaders who are on the path to engaging in a complex ritual in which they shed their exoskeleton and undergo a lengthy metamorphosis to transform into an aether-fueled vehicle. This is a great honor for the Speedbrood, one reserved only for their finest racers at the end of their lives: donating their body and soul to become a vessel for speed itself.

Note
Although both creature groups were created by Miguel Lopez, there isn't meant to be an implication that the Speedbrood are Eumidian.[6]
