Alchemy: Ixalan is a MTG Arena-exclusive card set in the Alchemy-series that was released on December 5, 2023.[3]
Description
Alchemy: Ixalan is a digital only release adjacent to the release of The Lost Caverns of Ixalan. There are 30 new designed-for-digital cards included in the set ().[4] All of the cards are set on Ixalan.
Mechanics
The digital-only mechanics Conjure, Intensity, One-time boon, Perpetually, Seek and Spellbook are reused. From the main set, explore, descend 8 and, fathomless Descent and map tokens are reused.
The action of perpetually increasing a card's intensity number is keyworded as intensify.
The set introduces the Chorus subtype for Instant and Sorcery spells to represent songs and sea shanties. The subtype itself has no function beyond flavor but it allows for the Intensity mechanic to affect multiple cards without having to name them. The set also introduces a Three-time boon,
