Spinnerette is a spider performer who works for Myra the Magnificent's Intergalactic Astrotorium of Fun.
Description
Spinnerette was hired by the park as its safety manager.[1] Space nets are not as sturdy as regular nets on Earth due to gravity and rotation and orbiting forces, but Spinnerette's are reinforced.
Her webs have cut high-wire injuries from falls by 95%. However, spider-related injuries are up 3000% since she started at the park. As she is used to eating things caught in her net, and all of the park's pests are too small to get caught, she required significant training and negotiation, making her now one of the highest-paid performers in the park.[2] She doesn't need to be paid, instead working for her food, but she receives a bonus for not eating performers. As part of her union-mandated snack breaks, Myra will sometimes serve Spinnerette less-successful performers, as part of a plan to increase her employees' productivity and motivation.
